On retreats of a week or more, we can add a second island. Terceira offers the UNESCO-listed town of Angra do Heroísmo and a relaxed, local feel, while Pico has Portugal’s highest mountain and vineyards growing in black lava rock. Inter-island flights are limited, so we plan around them from the start.
